Peter Koudstaal has been in touch with the following:
We are a small publisher from the Netherlands and at this time we are producing an international book project titled: ‘Music Brings Us Together’. The central items in this project are boutique music festivals (such as Glastonbury, Roskilde, Fuji Rock, Lowlands, The Falls, Benicassim, Electric Picnic etc.). The book, which is to be released in June of 2010, will not only contain many photos and illustrations but also text, provided by music journalists, in the form of interviews with artists who collaborated with the project and people who are involved with the organization of the festivals.
Never before – as far as we know – has there been a project of this kind with a factual approach that also had a bridge to ‘fiction’. We are searching for a talented writer who will be able to produce THE story about the pop culture (within the context of the subject of the book), told from the experiences of the average festival visitor. The novel should aim to shock and also make the reader laugh. The perfect story is written in English and will leave the reader mystified and with doubts because of the subtle referrals to non-fiction parts in the story. The writer is free to choose the angle from which to write the book, keeping in mind the title of the story, MUSIC BROUGHT US TOGETHER. An amount of GBP 450.00 has been made available for the best story. Payment will be made through PayPal. Interested persons should apply before 15 January 2010. Closing date: 31st of March 2010
